The process of creating the mood and personality of each animal I paint is

both my challenge and my fulfillment.

As I paint, a strong connection with the subject develops and

in my mind the animal seems to come alive as I paint.

I take particular care with the eyes

as it is the eyes that draw the viewer in.

I photographed these cubs

at the Wildlife Game Park in Bandon, Oregon.

The little cougar was just a few months old at the time

and was very curious as he investigated his new world.

The tiger was a bit older

but still liked to drink milk from a bottle.

They are a charming pair!
